Dear New Member Civic Organization:
Welcome to the Virginia Beach Council of Civic Organizations (VBCCO)! We are thrilled to have your civic organization join our network of engaged and passionate community groups working together to make Virginia Beach an even better place to live, work, and play.
The VBCCO, a 65-year-old non-profit organization, serves as the voice of civic leagues throughout Virginia Beach, working on issues that matter most to residents. By becoming a member, you and your organization will benefit from a strong network of local civic leagues and gain access to important resources, insights, and advocacy opportunities that support your mission.
You may be wondering, "Why should our civic organization be part of VBCCO?" Here are just a few of the benefits:
- Citywide Networking: Build lasting relationships with other civic leaders across the city through regular meetings, events, and collaborative initiatives.
- Educational Programs: We offer training sessions and workshops on key issues like land use, public safety, and community planning, helping you stay informed and empowered.
- A Voice in Local Decisions: We work closely with city officials, planning commissions, and law enforcement, ensuring your organization has a say in critical decisions that impact our neighborhoods.
- Conversations with the City: Participate in VBCCO’s "Conversations with the City" series, which covers topics vital to residents, taxpayers, voters, and community members.
- Recognition and Visibility: Showcase your organization's accomplishments and initiatives through our website, social media, and newsletters.
- Advocacy on Common Issues: Collaborate on issues affecting civic leagues citywide, strengthening our collective voice and impact.
- VBCCO Events: Take part in community events and forums, like our recent Mayoral Forum, which allow for meaningful dialogue and civic engagement.
- Support and Guidance: Whether it’s navigating local government processes, addressing neighborhood concerns, or sharing best practices, VBCCO is here to support you.
