The monthly VBCCO membership meeting will take place on May 20. Guest speaker is Sheriff Rocky Hollcomb. The Virginia Beach Council of Civic Organizations (VBCCO) is pleased to welcome Virginia Beach Sheriff Rocky Holcomb as our featured guest speaker at our upcoming May 20, 2026 meeting beginning at 6:30pm at the Bow Creek Recreation Center. Sheriff Holcomb will present “The State of the Sheriff’s Office,” including current operations, challenges, public safety concerns, inmate programs, staffing issues, and the future direction of the Sheriff’s Office here in Virginia Beach. This is an important opportunity for residents, taxpayers, civic leaders, and neighborhood advocates to hear directly from one of the City’s key public safety officials and better understand how the Sheriff’s Office impacts our community every day. Topics are expected to include: • Jail operations and inmate services • Public safety initiatives • Mental health and rehabilitation programs • Staffing and recruitment challenges • Budget and operational pressures • Coordination with other public safety agencies • Questions and discussion with attendees Whether you are active in a civic league, concerned about public safety, or simply interested in how local government operates, this will be a valuable and informative discussion. The VBCCO continues its mission of helping citizens become more informed, engaged, and involved in the affairs of the City of Virginia Beach. All interested residents are encouraged to attend. #VirginiaBeach #VBCCO #PublicSafety #VirginiaBeachSheriff #CivicEngagement #LocalGovernment #VirginiaBeachCitizens
